Born in Colombia, lives and works in New York

These photographs were taken in Bethlehem, PA in 2007 at the Bethlehem Steel Mill.  My intention was to build a portrait of a society by capturing the remains of what was, in it’s day, the second biggest steel company in the United States. I’m interested in form, geometry and simplicity when I look through the view-finder and in an alternative way to create a portrait of the men and women that spent their lives working in these spaces and the remains of their impact.  The relationship between these two approaches is where I look for images to emerge.
