COREY DANIELS

Born in Paterson NJ, l951, Lives and works in Maine, 1969-71 Boston Museum School

I am a painter and a photographer. I collected and assembled objects from an early age. The mass of my collection led me into the antiques business. I now live on the coast of Maine, where I have a shop and a studio.  I have taken some workshops, but mostly have taught myself the craft of large format photography. I started photographing single and groups of objects: valueless objects that, transferred to a silver print, took on some magic or metaphor. I also photographed, year after year, people in my life. I have continued to paint, although this work is totally separate and different from my photography.
