Acclaimed New York City photographer Paul Lange, whose work has been featured in Vogue, Glamour, GQ, Mademoiselle, Bazaar, Elle, British Vogue and The New York Times has segued from editorial and celebrity images to fine art photography. The 50 acre country estate of renowned Manhattan florist Zeze provides the subject matter for his new nature series. Big Blooms are large, lavish portraits of  flowers – primarily peonies and including poppies, roses and irises - from the Hudson Valley nirvana. The flower portraits are inspired by women, featuring blooms photographed on stark white backgrounds, lit as human portrait subjects. Working with concepts of size, scale and gesture, Lange coaxes each botanical specimen to display some whimsically anthropomorphic characteristic that evokes a feminine persona. The images have been collected world wide and featured in Architectural Digest as part of Aerin Lauder’s private collection.
